A job!

Well, it is not officially on paper, but I am confident that I finally have a job, starting Nov. 2. This is more of a wait than I was hoping for, but it is the best I can get for now. The job is the part time position I had blogged about earlier. The board accepted the proposal to start second quarter. I will teach the first 4 periods of the day which will include 7th grade lit and one other class I am not sure of yet, and then I will be the on-site sub whenever needed in the afternoon! I am very excited to have a routine and my own classroom, even if it is just part time! There is also another teacher who is pregnant and will be out the last couple months of the year, so hopefully I can take her maternity leave and be full time by the end of the year! Again this is not officially on paper, but the principal told me it was accepted and she will have something on paper for me this week! I have said this many times but apparently I have a thick skull and this experience again reminded me that God knows best. For those of you who know me well know that I am a routine, task oriented, type A personality and these last few months have been hard for me. But it looks like this just may be the perfect place for me this year and I thank God for providing this opportunity! I get to do what I love in the morning and spend my afternoons with my beautiful daughter!
Another thing that has been tough lately is my social life. That sounds strange, but I have really been missing my girlfriends. I had such amazing friends in Guatemala and every point in my life before that. Not that I don't have friends here, but it's just not the same....yet. It is a little sad that the girls who I would love to spend the day playing cards or just talking with now live in Guatemala, TN, MA, NM, SD.... that is crazy. I know God will give us great friends here and I am already getting to know people who I know will be great friends, but that doesn't happen overnight, and at the time I love talking on the phone with my friends. Tonight we actually went to another couples house with Scott and Christina and had a great time. It was nice to get off campus and just relax in a house.
I have been a bit under the weather. I have a pretty bad head cold. I have felt it coming on for a few days, but last night it really hit, hopefully it will be gone soon. Zoe had not aught it yet and seems to be as healthy as ever!
It's a good time to be a MN sports fan! Vikings pulled of a great win today and the Twins are only 2 games out. Who would have thought that was possible a few weeks ago. Tony may be driving to Detroit tomorrow with another RD to watch the Twins, one of the many perks of an RD job.
Speaking of Tony's job, he had his big event of the year on Thursday night: the Davenport Derby. It went really well and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. An album of the few pictures I was able to take has been added.
Sorry for all the rambling, here are a few pics of Zoe!
A fountain on Campus that Zoe could look at for hours, she loves it.

She is getting so big, she almost touches the ends of her changing table. (I have no idea how I got her to lay still and straight for this picture)

Zoe's favorite sleeping position.

She loves this toy and is getting much better at grabbing the rings, Thanks Sandy!

Congrats. Let me know if you ever need any literature tips. Ha. This MA girl wishes she could hang out with those in OH, TN, TX, and Guatemala, too! It'll get better.

Aw, me too guys, me too. I just don't ever blog to say it for real. I kind of teared up a bit reading this. I've turned into a sap.

Zoe wears 9 month clothes? Does she have a Halloween outfit yet? Because I saw some yesterday at Walmart and thought of her. : )
