Wow

OK, I have finally found a few moments to sit down at the computer! My mother AND SISTER arrived last night and it so great to have them here. Tony and I actually for a few ours of sleep last night/ this morning as my mom got up with Zoe! Right now Tony and my mom went for a walk to drop off laundry and get groceries. Deidra is busy cleaning! So here I am wanting to share everything of the last few days with you all but I am not real sure where to start.
We left the hospital at about 11:30 Thursday morning. Valarie and Josh from school came to take us home. Because this is Guatemala and there are no real rules, we did not and will not have a car seat here, so Zoe's first car ride was on my lap:) To get to our apartment we have to climb three flights of stairs. This is obviously impossible for me at this point, so Tony and Josh carried me the whole way up. Thursday afternoon and night went incredible fast, I am not really sure what all happened. Tony picked up laundry and went to the pharmacy to get my pain meds, but other than that we were just getting settled in and trying to keep er happy. We had quite a few visitors Thursday night which was great, but also a little overwhelming. Thank goodness she is a very happy baby and was passed around for a good 3 hours and slept the whole time. That made for a very long night for mom and dad, but it was a joy.
Friday went very fast as well we all slept alot in the morning. It is crazy how fast time goes. I have no idea where the whole day went but before i knew it, it was 6:00 i still needed to shower and our friends were about to head over to make us supper. My wonderful girlfriends made spaghetti for us while Tony went to go to Mom and Deidra from the bus station. They arrived about 8:30 and I was pleasantly surprised to see Deidra along! We talked and they loved on Zoe until about 11:00 when we all went to bed.
So far the biggest struggle for me has been dealing with my body. It is very frustrating not being able to move very well or do everything I want to be able to do for Zoe because of the surgery. But I am improving everyday and everything is worth is when she is in my arms! Breast feeding has also been a bit of a struggle, which I know is normal at first. We are both learning and improving. There have been a few tears of pain and frustration shed, but I am determined to nurse her and keep her as healthy as possible.
This morning my mother gave Zoe her first bath.

There will soon be another new album of pictures. We are trying our best to keep you all satisfied with as many pictures as we can, enjoy!

Thanks for the update. Glad to know you are getting great care from Tony, and your mom and sister. She is a total doll and can't wait to see her. I already printed her picture out and it is hanging on my "nephew and niece" wall. Enjoy time with the family and love ya much. Vonda

the first picture on your shutterfly where Danielle and Zoe are in the wheel chair ready for Tony to take them home,i noticed that Zoe was wrapped in the blanket that great great grandma Gert crochet for Vonda's children. Grandma Gert gave that to Vonda years ago. And Vonda knowing she can't have children in turn gave it to Danielle. What a keepsake. love G grandma carolne

What a beautiful baby! We expected nothing less! Danielle remember you are first, you have to take care of yourself, so you can take care of Zoe. You just had surgery and it takes a while to recover, but before you know it you will be back to yourself. Be patient with nursing, that will come too. It sounds like you have the right mind set about it. Get lots of rest and drink lots of water. We can't wait to see you guys again and OF COURSE Zoe!! :-)

Love you,
Kevin, Genny, Brandon and Amanda
