Jessica's Visit

What a great weekend we had with Jessica. After waiting for over an hour at the bus station her bus finally arrived and we were able to be together! We hurried home to drop her stuff and freshen up before heading to a coffee shop for the end of a concert. From there we went with several other teachers to a bar/club for a little food and talk. Saturday was a blast. We got up early made a big breakfast and took her for a walk around Xela, pretty much the democracia(big crazy market with everything) It was a very good workout for me, but I was glad to show her Xela a little. Saturday afternoon Jessica and I went to the my first baby shower! All the ladies met in the park and we all smashed into 2 vehicles, it was crazy. It turns out that I was the only one who had previously been to the house where the shower was to be, and I didn’t really remember how to get there. So after a few wrong turns, lots of bouncing around from the horrible roads and a few phone calls, we arrived! Everyone brought great snack and we played a few games. One of the games all the ladies had to guess the distance around my belly with a piece of yarn, it was hilarious how HUGE they thought I was. After a few other games I opened all the amazing gifts. I had made a list and put it in the teachers lounge, because they are all particle like myself and wanted to get me things we needed, and they did a great job. The only thing that was a little excessive were the socks. I have over 20 pair of infant sock, she will be one warm baby!

We have baby stuff!!

Saturday night was cards night, not much different than a usual weekend night for me, but this time it was with Jessica! My usual card partners Randi and Lorrie joined us. We played one game at our place, then went out to eat, played another game at a coffee shop and then ended the night with another game at Lorrie's house. It was a great night with lots of laughs.

Tony had a great adventure Saturday and Sunday…. Here is a picture. He will write more later.

Sunday Jessica and I didn’t so much at all as I was not feeling well. We slept in, watched a movie, got tan on the roof, backed and did a puzzle, it was a very relaxing day. I felt bad not doing anything exciting with her or showing her anymore of Guatemala, but I was just not up to it and of course she understood.

Monday she came to school with us and pretty much watched me teach all day while making Tony a new bulletin board, what a great friends. Monday night we went out to eat with a few other friends to say good bye to Jess and now she is gone already :(

Thanks you Jessica for your visit, it means so much to us!!

Two new shutterfly albums have been made, so check those out. Also, if anyone else would like a little central American get-away, tickets are pretty cheap right now and we would love to host any of you!

Today after school we had another doctors appointment. Valerie, the amazing women who has gone with us to every other appointment and will be there for the delivery for both lingual support and a birthing coach was not able to make it today. Kandy, the business assistant as school who is expecting in July went with us and then had her appointment after us as she is seeing the same doctor. I had many questions for the doctor and all the answers were what I expected or better so that was good. The head is down and in good position, my blood pressure is back to normal and everything looks good! We will go back in three weeks after we visit the hospital for a test of the babies blood. Because I am negative and Tony is positive we need to be careful. So when we return to the doctor in three weeks with the test results, he will tell us what we need to do. He will also do another ultrasound then.

We have exciting plans for this weekend….stay tuned :)
