I had great plans of going to Pana (little city on Lake Atitlan) to do all our christmas shopping this weekend. This is where I went last year and bought everything and it was great. But after thinking it through I decided riding a couple buses and not sleeping in my own bed was not worth it. The other girls that I was going to go with seemed to agree, so the weekend was spent in Xela!
Friday night we went out to eat with friends and just hung out. Saturday morning our wonderful friends came over to help Tony paint the bathroom (something I have been asking for since the day we moved in!) There was mold on the walls and it was just really bad looking. So we stuck with the rainbow theme of our aparment and painted it "Thunder Blue". It is quite bold, but it looks so much better. Thanks guys!
After the painting fun we went to Micheal's (school director)house for "The Office" marathon. We think it is the funniest show ever. Tony and I have seen all of season 1 and 2 and are working on 3 and 4. We, along with a a few other friends watched 20 episodes of the office. Our entire afternoon and night was spent in front of the TV, it was hilarous!
Today we got up early and walked out to central park to watch the 1st annual national half marathon. It went all through town, but since we live right in the park we watched from there. We were able to see and cheer for our school secretary Yasi who was running and also a few other familiar faces from school. After cheering in the park Tony headed to the other end of town to the finish line to meet Yasi there! He said it was really great to see her finish.
Tomorrow is the 20 week mark of the pregnancy, which means we are half way! I cannot believe how fast time has gone. I have been feeling great. I also felt the first kick last weekend. It was amazing. Tony has felt a few this week as well. It seems that I always feel kicking at night, before I go to bed, so that has been fun for us!
We have a week and a half of school and then we are off to Tikal and Rio Dulce for Thanksgiving vacation. After that we only have two weeks of classes and then finals. We are so excited to be home for christmas, but have a ton to do here in the next month, I am sure it will fly by.
