Another week in Guatemala, another post by Tony

Hello all,
I would now prefer that everyone refer to me as Big Papi. Not to be confused with big papa which means potato is Spanish. A lot of things have happened since my last blog and I will try to run through them with you.
Last Tuesday when Danielle and some of the other girls were at Bible Study someone broke into the apartment where five of the female teachers were living. This was the second time that someone has gotten into the apartment and our friend Randi got a little fed up and she moved in with us until she is able to find a better and safer place to live. They took her ipod and speakers, dvd's, and her tennis shoes. So if anyone sees a Guatemalan crossing the border with a new pair of Asic's ask where they got them from. She is probably going to be here until Christmas, but it is really fun to have someone else around.
On Friday, Danielle had a rough day. She came to school in the morning but she did not last long. By 9:00 she had a really bad headache so she went to the doctor. The doctor told her that her headaches where because of low blood pressure (I contend that the headaches were because she was trying to fathom how awesome her husband was). Not to worry though, we found out the the low blood pressure was good because it makes the placenta (4th time I have ever used that word, 1st time without blushing) work harder. That is what Danielle told me and I am by no means a doctor. She stayed home and rested the rest of the day and has felt fine recently.
This coming Wednesday we are having our big Thanksgiving celebration at school. Thanksgiving is not a holiday that they celebrate in Guatemala, because the Pilgrims and Indians did not sup together in the same fashion. They would have eaten paches and horchata instead of turkey and stuffing. The families throuw a big party for the teachers and it is a really fun day. We have a half day on Wednesday and then we are going on what might be our last Guatemalan vacation. We are planning on visiting Tikal, where we will tour the most popular set of Myan ruins in Guatemala. After we spend a day there were are going to Rio Dulce (sweet river) where we will be meeting up with some of the teachers from both past and present. Rio Dulce is the relaxing part of our trip that will be spent in the sun on the beach. It should be kind of hectic, but we are very excited about the trip.

Peace,
Tony

Hey Schnyders, Glad to read that things are going well! I'm so glad I can spend this time with you and I look forward to the 'sweet river'. Carrie and I laughed all the way through this post! Good one, Tony!

Well, Big Papi, it is nice that you are blogging once in awhile. Tell my sister not to overexert herself exploring the Mayan ruins... no fainting allowed! Love you both and can't wait to see you in less than a month!!
