Not so usual...

Well, after a boring blog of normal life a few things have happened. When I wrote the last blog Tony had not informed me that he was going on his first field trip. Yesterday he took his class to Casa de Ninos, a daycare for children of single mothers or struggling families. His students read to the kids there. It was a good challange for his students as they had books in Enlgish but had to translate to Spanish as they were reading. After the reading they all went to Wendys together for lunch! Tony had a really good time and the kids enjoyed the time as well. Also yesterday we were able to go to the 7th grade party after the staff meeting. It was Tony, me and the three other Middle School teachers. It was their first student party experience, so that was fun for us. The party was great as always, a great selection of food, students thinking its awesome that they can speak spanish in front of their teachers and parents more excited about the party than anyone. I spent most of the night talking with the moms, which I really enjoy. (pictures coming soon)
One unusally bad thing that happened yesterday after school is that two of our teacher were in an accident. Our art teacher owns a scooter and another teacher was riding with her when a truck pulled out in front of them causing them to swerve and take a bad tumble. They were both taken to the hospital. The passenger, the one without the helmet walked away with only a few bad bumps and bruises. The driver, owner of the scooter had a bad cut on her forehead all the way to her skull, she is still in the hospital but doing well. So please keep those girls in your prayers. Hopefully they can recover and return to school soon.
As I am typing this Tony is leading elementary chapel, he has some fun games planned, so I am going to go check that out!
