Celebrating independence

We had a great weekend and day off Monday celebrating Central American Independence! Actually I didn't do much of anything, many hours of sleeping and being lazy, and I loved every minute of it. Tony took part in a few more of the festivities, but I was fine to stay home and chill. The video below is our building Saturday night, it was crazy and sooooooo loud, but I managed to sleep through it:)

Tonight we went to the fair. I couldn't go on any rides this year which was quite disappointing because I loves the rides, but I got some good pictures. The video below is Tony and friends on a dangerous ride that would never happen in the states, but is a big hit here! I don't know if you can tell of the video, but there are no straps or buckles or any sort of safetly device, you just hold on for dear life. I rode this ride last year and had a blast, there are usually way more poeple watching than riding.

Here is a sampling of a few of the other rides.

Also at the fair is a large assortment of amazing food, we had our fair share.

I have pretty exciting plans for the weekend. Four other female teachers and I are heading to the coast for the whole weekend for a Turtle release. It is a fulling planned trip by a family from school. We are hoping to find and release some turtles as well as enjoy the beach and heat! Many picutres to come when I return! Tony will be staying in Xela for a "guys weekend"???
I also am in the process of making a photo album on shutterfly of all our independence weekend picutres, so check that out soon!
