The beach is very remote so there were very few people of the beach and lots of animals, but that made for a cheap and peaceful weekend. We spent most of our time swimming in the ocean, pool or playing cards, lots of card playing!! It was a great girls weekend away.
Back in Xela the guys didn't do much. They did go to the pool just down the mountain saturday for a bit and other than that played some video games and just relaxed.
We do have some bad news from this weekend. Five of the females teachers live in a house together and while we were gone the house was broken into. A computer, camera, gradebook and school keys were taken. When one of the girls got home she heard something and went to another room and that is when they left. We are just so thankful they left then and didn't confront her. Their landlord is fixing the window that they got in through and the cops were there taking fingerprints, not that they will do anything, but at least they showed up. So because school keys were taken we will be getting a few new locks and keys at school and hopefully we will not have this problem again.
These facts were in a recent Xela magazine and they say alot of about Guatemala.
1. Guatemalan police are ranked 127 out of 131 world wide for trustworthiness.
2. 100,000 babies will be born to women under the age of 20 this year.
This is the country we love and call home:)
And now the best for last: WE ARE COMING HOME FOR CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!! We found cheap tickets (relativily speaking)a few nights ago and we couldn't pass them up. Thanks to our parents and other family for helping making this possible!!!
There is now an independence and beach album on shutterfly, so check those out.
That is all for now, another busy week ahead of us.

Did you go to Monterrico or a different beach? Sounds like a great weekend!
Sounds like you had a restful weekend. We are so excited that you will be home for the Holidays! It's hard to believe that you left over a month ago. We are hoping each week finds you feeling more energized as you progress in your pregnancy! We are glad that things are going so well for you! love, Mom Schnyders
That's sad that you didn't get to see any turtles, but it sounds like you still had an awesome weekend! I loved the pictures by the way... (I think I see the progression of a baby bump... yeah!). Love you both!

Thought I left you a note the first time I read the blog about your trip but I guess not --- so for the record I did read your blog earlier. I agree with Darci --- bravo on the baby bump picture. I wish it was me in the picture (not being pregnant) just at the beautiful place you stayed. Love ya much - can't wait till Christmas. Vonda
