Our Firsts

This experience has brought forth many firsts in our lives. First time riding in a van with 20 people. First time being one of the taller people on the streets. First time going to a professional soccer game. First time teaching (that is scary). First time seeing a dead dog on the street. First time drinking coffee on a regular basis. First time buying 11 newly released DVD's for about $14. And now added to the list is our first Earthquake! I was sitting at the computer at about 11:30 or 12:00 on Saturday night eating my Zucharitas (Kelloggs calls them frosted flakes in the US), when I feel the ground shake and see my milk start to rumble. I woke Danielle up and she did not feel a thing. Just to put the family at ease, nothing fell out of the cupboards or shook off the walls, it was just a small tremor and to be honest I was not even sure it was real until someone mentioned it to me this morning. Danielle and I are having an awesome time getting to learn about the culture down here, the people have been so helpful and kindhearted. We are really looking forward to getting going with the school year, and don't listen to anything you hear from Danielle about my schedule being slack. Es muy deficil! That's all for now, and I look forward to writing again soon.

Love everyone back home,
Tony and Danielle

Hey guys!!
I am so glad to read that you are doing so well!!! It sounds like such a blessing in your lives to be able to have these experiences. I was talking to Scott about his trip and decided that I probably should have been a little more adventurous, but being a mom is pretty adventurous in itself I guess.... not really, but it makes me feel better to think so!!!
I can't believe you had an earthquake... scary stuff.
I miss you guys so much, I am really feeling it since I am here and you are not. That is a new one...
Anyway- I am thinking of you often and hope that this experience is everything you deserve for it to be! (Nothing less than perfection).
We love and miss you,
Laura
