Recent Happenings

Well there is not much new to tell you about. This week we were usy at school writing lesson plans, syllubi and other fun stuff. That was all due on friday, so we for all of it in, now we have Monday and Tuesday for a few more meetings and a little planning time. School starts on Wednesday and we are very excited for that.
The following is a list of things that have recently happened and we thought you may find entertaining.
*At every restaurant we have been to, they bring out mints with the check. The only thing is they are not mints, they're Halls cough drops. We have had this everytime and we heard that this is the way it always is. So if we ever get a cough, I guess we will just have to go out to eat:)
*This morning we woke up to go to church, but not wanting to walk all the way across town to a church we knew started at 8:30, we thought we would just walk around our area, because we knew of three churchs. We just figured one of them would start in the next hour or so. But that was not the case. we found three of them and none of them started any time soon, so we came back to our apartment and had our own little church!
*Yesterday morning we hiked our first mountain. It was really not that high, but because we are already at 7500 elevation it was a good workout. It was beautiful and there are pictures of the hike on our shutterfly site.
*We have been looking for two weeks now for a couch to put in our apartment so we have something other than the bed to sit on. The only problem is, you cannot buy just a couch by itself. You have to buy a three piece set. There is not way we can fit a three pieces in our apartment, we are pushing it to get just a couch in here. We we will keep looking or see if someone from school wants to split the set with us. We REALLY want a couch:)
*The elecricty has been out four times already since we have been here. It's just a normal thing, you never know when or why, but we always have a flash light ready.
Thats all for now, once school starts, I don't know how often we will update with or if we will have anything new to say but we will try:)

Hello from Washington,
O.K. I will try this again. It didn't want to take it the first time -probably my error. So if you get two messages just ignore one.
Anyway, I am very excited to be able to hear from you and see your pictures. I just showed my niece who just came back from a mission trip in Guat. City. So the pictures looked somewhat familiar. She said they climbed a volcano and roasted marshmallow over the hot stones.
God will be with you as you teach because I believe that you were called to be there and prayer will hold you up. Our sermon today was entitled "When we Pray, Christ Works" from John 14:12-14 In summary I learned from that scripture that we are partnering with Christ He says" I will be on the throne" and You will ask"in my name" and I will do what you ask to bring glory to my Father. Another quote from today that made me ponder some was "When we work, we work. When we pray, God works!"
So there is a sermon for you in a nutshell to ponder about.
Have a great first week of school. We love you and are being held up by many prayers.
Love from Aunt Melinda
