A Rough Start

We are confident that life in Canton will be good, but the first week was not a good indicator of that. The trip here went great and we arrived here Tuesday afternoon and quickly unloaded the few things we had with us. Tuesday and Wednesday went smoothly getting a little settled in. Thursday is when the real fun began. We needed to register and license our jeep. To make a long story short it took seven hours including various stops including a vehicle inspection and a stop at the social security office, it was ridiculous, and that night we realized the double charged our account, which they still ahvenot returned. MOving is expensive the way it is add in no income until August and being doubled charged and it makes it really difficult. GRRR. Friday Jerry arrived with the trailer and the majority of our stuff. Unloading went really well and most things are unpacked at this point. There was only one broken piece from the move, not so bad. Now for the really bad part. We met a friend who was traveling through yesterday for lunch which was great and after that we headed to amish country to stop at a few shops and eat. We were done shopping and pulling left into the restaurant at the top of a hill and Tony did not see a vehicle coming from the other directions. His left front bumper hit the center of our front bumper. We are all ok with no injuries but not so for the jeep. We had to wait almost an hour for a highway patrolman to come because there is not a great population of police in the middle of amish country. The people we hit were very nice, but the older man driving did not speak english, so that was interesting. The cop turned out to be a gratuate of Malone and was a very nice man. It was a pretty horrible and expensive day for us. We are trying to look at the bright side and we know things will only go up from here. We had to Jeep towed to canton and an adjuster will be out tomorrow to look at it.
On a happier note, Zoe continues to do great, sleeping 8 hours a night and is very content, she even has the pooping thing figured out now so that is great:)Also good news there are still quite afew open teaching jobs in the area and I am busy applying, so we will see what happens.
I will try to post pitures of the apartment and Zoe later this week, sorry for the delay in recent pictures.
