Hello All,
I am the happiest man in the world today because I now get to experience the joys of restless sleep, the smell of spit-up on my collar, and the irrisistable urge to look at her all night. For those of you who don't know here is the story.
Danielle and I had an ultrasound on Monday and our doctor did not get a chance to look at our results. We had an appointment scheduled with him for 4:15 yesterday, but he called me at about 10:00 AM and asked if we could meet so he could look over the results. We were happy to meet with him and had decided that if he wanted to induce that we thought she was ready. We waited in the doctor's office for about an hour and a half when we finally got to see him. He said the the placenta was kind of old and that he wanted to do an internal exam. Most doctors refuse to do internal exams because it is territory with very restricted access. After doing the exam he said that (sorry about the details)the uterus was not at the right angle and that the baby's head was not low enough. He said we did have the option to induse but because she was not dialated that it would most likely not work. He said that we should not wait anymore and that he recommended that we do a c-section. We talked about it for a bit and decided that although we were trying to avoid this it might be necessary.
We came to the hospital at 2:00 PM and some of the nurses came in to check on Danielle. They said that the baby's heart rate had slowed and that they needed to start moving quicker. She was then taken to the operating room and given an epidural and within the hour she was having the surgery. This was three hours that were filled with expectations that were not met. I was not allowed to be in the operating room, the three of us were not able to be together right away, and Danielle had to spend the first FOUR hours in the Intensive Care while she was recovering. Our doctors all worked very hard and they have been checking in on us off and on so for that we are grateful!
Her surgery went well and we are proud parents of a 7 lb. 14 oz. beautiful baby girl. She has been feeding well and Danielle and I have gotten some sleep in the middle. I am still trying to figure out how to con one of these nurses into coming home with us to keep changing the diapers, but have had little luck thus far.
We had some friends stop by yesterday and they were able to see Zoe but not Danielle. We are looking forward to having more visitors after school today. That is all for now but make sure you check out the pictures.

Congratulations Tony and Danielle!
She is precious! What a relief to have her here and that Danielle and Zoe are both doing fine! God is good!
I am so happy that your Mom will be on her way already tomorrow. I bet that won't come quick enough for her. How nice she'll get to see Zoe for the first time when she is only a couple of days old.
Wish we could be there to see her in person.
