Todavia No (Still no)

Today's doctor visit was a little different than those before. Last week Dr. Scheel had recommended that we get an ultrasound to check the cord and placenta. We decided not to have that done because Zoe was still very active and it was quite expensive. So when we arrived this morning he was visible upset with us for not getting that and pretty much made us feel dumb. So he again urged us to get it because he had a few concerns. He called a doctor friend of his and we got a discount on the ultrasound and went ahead and had it. The doctor who did the ultrasound was very nice. He did a great job and it lasted about 20 minutes. He said everything looked good. The Amniotic fluid was a the correct level, the placenta is mature, but not too mature, and the big surprise, the cord is not even around the neck. He also said that she weighs almost 8 lbs already. So all of Doctors concerns were for not. When we returned to Dr. Scheel's office and showed him the results he was pleased but still looking for a reason to induce today. He is leaving for vacation tomorrow and we think he really wants to deliver our baby, which is great, but I am not willing to be induced if it is not necessary. So we left on ok terms. We have the number of his partner doctor and we shall see how the next days play out. So a long story short, our doctor is out of town, but Zoe is in great condition and we are continuing the waiting game.
In other news.. if there really is any. The weather here is amazing. We are now in the middle of the very short Guatemalan "summer" before the rainy season starts. It is completely sunny all day and HOT, it is really nice. Also, Tony is very happy to be watching his Tar Heels in the championship game tonight. We get the game live just in Spanish, so it is not quite the same, but I do have one happy husband.
Again your prayers in this time of waiting would be greatly appreciated. I am very sick of this body and so ready to meet our daughter!

Hi Tony and Danielle,

So thankful to hear the chord is no longer around Zoe's neck. What a relief and answer to prayers!

You are in our thoughts daily!
