Wow, what a trip. Tony described the long journey back to Xela as "some of the worst 30 hours of my life" if that tells you anything about out travel. Our first flight out of Omaha was fine, we even ran into 2 people we know in the Omaha airport, it was crazy. WE arrived in Chicago at 8:00 and were scheduled to fly out at 2:00 am. Well they announced at 1:30 am that our pilot had been hospitalized and they are unsure of the plans. To make a long story short, after being served "breakfast" and trying to sleep on a hard cold airport floor for far too many hours, we finally boarded at 10:00 am, only to sit on the plane for another hour while they de-iced. So we thought we were ok from here on out, but a little later than we had hoped. Well it turns our to be the roughest more turbalant filled ride you can imagine, people were puking everywhere, thankgoodness we did not, although I was awfully close a few times. We landed in Guate at 3:30 and were able to get the 5:30 bus to Xela, we were in out apartment by 10:00, which is a pretty quick trip. It was a very long 30+ hour journey but it is good to be back.
I have to admit that I was quite emotional all through the trip, I am just not real excited to be back here this time. I am not sure if it is the pregnancy, how great break was or what, but I am working really hard at being happy here. Hopefully with some good sleep and a restful weekend coming up I can be back to normal.
That is all for now, nothing new of exciting happened here while we were gone, so that is good I guess. Thanks everyone who hosted or fed us while we were home. We absolutely loved every minute and that is because of all of you. THANKS!
