Election Day Party

We hosted an election day party at our house last night for all the teachers. We had about 15 poeple here. It was all in good fun and nothing got too personal even with all the strong opinions. We were expecting it to be a late night, but because the results were in fairly early everyone was gone by 9:30, which was nice because that is past my bedtime:) I made a few posters for the wall and I made colored rice krispiy bars. One of the other teachers made amazingly decorated cupcakes. We are happy with the results of the election and are exited to see what obama can do in the next four years! Check out the pictures below!

Tony is not going to school friday because his friend from the states (former college roommate) is coming in for a weekend visit, so he will be going to Guatemala City to pick him up. We are really excited to have a visitor! We don't have much planned, we are just going to show him the ins and outs of Xela and what life is like here! It will be great to have a friend from the states here, even if it's just for the weekend. He leaves again early Monday morning. We will post beginning of next week about his visit!

I can't say I agree with your choice for President but glad you had a good time and are in an apartment that is big enough to have friends over. Vonda

Sounds like fun, although I must say watching NWC and Dordt play vball was probably more fun than watching election results...
