Back in the swing of things

I cannot believe how good it is to get back into a routine and see all the kids again. It really was great to see the kids and talk about our breaks. My students were disappointed to find out that they did get homework on the first day back- why waste time?? The students were surprisingly well behaved this week, f only it was always like this. I think they were just tired from break and use to sleeping in, I had some of the same problems:)
Most of my students did not recognize me because of my haircut. It was so funny, I couldn't figure out why they weren't making eye contact with me and acting weird, but once we got in the classroom and I started talking, they knew who I was. I couldn't believe a haircut could do that, but it gave me a few laughs.
It was also really great to see all of our friends/other teachers again. We had not realized how important they are to us until you are not with them for a few weeks. They are like our family down here and we feel so blessed to have such great friends down here.
The school has started a new service for the teachers this semester that we are greatly enjoying. They have hired a microbus(public transportation that we normally get around town in) to pick up all the teachers in the morning. So how we only have about a 5 minute walk to Parque Bolivar where we are picked up. They also bring us there at the end of the day. This saves us so much time, it is wonderful. The only bad thing is we are not walking at much and we are a little afraid of what this could do to our mid-sections, we will have to find other forms of exercise:)
We didn't really do anything this weekend; sleep, some school work and lots of watching football, because we actually get all of the playoff games, this made Tony VERY happy.
This week we will be back to the normal busy schedule of teaching, Spanish lessons, tutoring, Bible study and whatever else comes up.
We just want to say thanks so everyone who faithfully checks this. It means so much to us that you want to stay connected to our lives here and truly care about our daily activities. We had such an amazing time at home catching up with many of you. THANKS!
