Thursday we did not have school, as it is Day of the Dead here. Jessica and I spent the day sleeping in and checking out different shops and festivals. Friday Jessica came to school with us all day and was able to see the angels we teach:) It was really fun to show her school and introduce her to our students. Miss. S(as the students were told to call her) thouroughly enjoyed her day at school. Friday after school we introduced Jessica to Xela's amazing bake shop. She was impressed and enjoyed as much as we do every friday!
Saturday we were able to take her down the mountain out of Xela and to the true heat of Guatemala. We spent the afternoon at a beautiful pool. We got a little sun burned, but it was wonderful! Saturday night we took her to a Xelaju soccer game, where she expanded her Spanish vocabulary, in a not so good manner. It was a cultural awakening where the Super Chivos were once again victorious in an exciting game!
Today we spent the morning climbing mount Baul. It was a good work out. At the top of the mountain there are cement slides that we went down on cardboard, quite dangerous, but a thrill.
Sunday afternoon we bought some gifts and souvenir items in the monthly market in Parque central. Tonight we are just hanging out at home, enjoying each others company. I have created a new album of all our adventure on our Shutterfly account, so check them out.
I cannot express to you how blessed we are to have such great family and friends supporting us, and to have someone so special visiting us was amazing. Thank you all for so faithfully checking this out, we are happy you care so much! We are looking forward to Christmas and seeing all of you! God Bless
